my|BOS Cards

Cashless payments by payment card are an important component of banking. This “card business” is specific and complex. For large banking institutions it may be worthwhile to implement their own systems to support their card business, but the trend is to use the services of a provider who covers both the physical issuing of payment cards and the processing of transactions for card associations. Nevertheless, even when a card provider is involved, it is necessary on the banking side to implement the functionality required to support the issuing of cards and the realisation of card transactions (own cards or cards from other issuers in the bank’s ATMs or POS).

For this segment, the company offers the my|BOS Cards product, a sophisticated interface between banking systems and the provider.

The scope of my|BOS Cards functionality is derived from how the data required to issue cards is obtained. This my|BOS Cards system can be implemented as entirely independent and separate, i.e. data can be administered via the system’s interactive functionality, or interfaces are built for other systems that are primary for such administration. E.g. direct banking clients service cards for their accounts in these systems (card applications, activation, setting limits, blocking cards, etc.), and only some services are performed by the bank’s employees (blocking cards owing to distraint, etc.).
The my|BOS Cards system is therefore generally linked to a whole range of systems for both the provider and the bank itself.

The system’s functions cover the full scope of card business: support for issuing cards, the receipt and processing of authorised queries (which includes an H2H solution), and the receipt and billing of card transactions. Naturally, there are features such as managing supplementary services, the administration and generation of charges for transactions (or e.g. balance inquiries), membership and supplementary services, events such as changes to limits, etc., the searching and monitoring of on-line authorisation queries (suspicious or risky payments), generating statements, generating extracts for data warehouses, sending text messages for authorised queries, etc.
