The selection procedure usually has two rounds. In the first round the candidate will meet someone from the HR Department, who will familiarise him or her with the company, the way in which work is managed, our products and projects, and the job description for the position in question. The candidate will also be informed of the remuneration, appraisal and education systems. The initial interview also includes a presentation by the candidate, who will have an opportunity to introduce him or herself and give an account of his or her career to date, education, experience in IT, language skills, etc. The standard interview usually lasts an hour.
Some of the introductory rounds, especially for technical positions, include a specialised test. This is not an examination: the test is rather intended to let us know the level the candidate operates at in the field in question. The candidate is given the test at the end of the interview, after having been provided with full information on our company and confirming that he or she is genuinely interested in working with us. The tests are designed to take one hour at most.
Successful candidates proceed to the second round, where their potential line manager will join the process. The second round is usually the final one. The interview is similar to the initial interview, but focuses more on the specific nature of the position and the working conditions. If a candidate successfully completes both rounds of the selection procedure, he or she is sent the proposed terms of employment and a draft employment contract.
If these terms are acceptable, the employment contract can be signed and the candidate can start working at BSC PRAHA.
